Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City- The first Monday Flag Raising Ceremony of PRO MIMAROPA for 2014 on January 6, 2013, in front of the Regional Headquarters, Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro became more distinct because it coincides with the 20th PNP Ethics Day celebration with this year’s theme “Disiplina sa Sarili isang Hamon sa Kaayusan at Kaunlaran Tungo sa Serbisyong Makatotohanan”, the Donning of Ranks of the two (2) newly promoted Police Senior Superintendent and the Untaping of Issued Firearms.ethicsday2013

PSUPT HERMINIO M. CALLUENG, Chief, Regional Operations and Plans Division and PSUPT LORENZO J HOLANDAY JR, Group Director, Regional Headquarters Support Group were promoted to the next higher rank which is Police Senior Superintendent. As well as, deserving PRO MIMAROPA personnel namely: PSUPT IMELDA V TOLENTINO, Chief, Public Information Office, PCINSP ROMMEL BRIONES, Deputy, C, RPHRDD, PO2 Grace Saway, RLRDD PNCO and PO2 Christine L Ybo, RIDMD PNCO received Medalya ng Mabuting Asal (PNP Good Conduct Medal) for their conspicuous devotion to duty extended to a period of five (5) years without record of punishment, conviction or derogatory information whatsoever.

PCSUPT MABILIN also spearheaded the ceremonial removal of the tapes of the handguns of PRO MIMAROPA personnel which was undertaken region wide showing not a single member of PRO MIMAROPA fired indiscriminately their firearms in celebrating Christmas and New Year.

In the message of Dir. CECILIO A AMBID, Director II, Civil Service Commission Field Office, Oriental Mindoro as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, he encouraged everyone to strive harder in maintaining discipline within them, to deliberately align each one’s energy with their own values and priorities through mental practice and to focus on a task before them and let other temptations and distractions pass by.

As a sign of gratitude, PRO MIMAROPA prepared a simple token and memento for DIR. AMBID. After which, a thanksgiving mass was offered by the men and women of PRO MIMAROPA for all the blessings received by the region in the year 2013 and for more blessings to come this year.

Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City- PSUPT IMELDA V TOLENTINO, Chief, Regional Public Information Office appeared at Tamaraw Vision Network Inc. (TV Net), program “Newsline City Talk with its Segment Episode: “Bagong Taon, Bagong Inspirasyon ” hosted by Ms. Jake Viray located at GLC Building, Barangay San Vicente, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on January 4, 2014 at about 6:30 PM.

PSUPT TOLENTINO reported the results of the relentless and outstanding campaign and security measures undertaken by PRO MIMAROPA during the Yuletide Season which greatly show the decrease of firecracker victims region wide from fifty-one (51) victims last year to nineteen cases this year (19). Further, in MIMAROPA region, there are no cases of stray bullet and indiscriminate firing recorded last year and this year. This could be attributed by the joint efforts exerted by the entire law enforcement agencies region wide. The initiated crafted leaflet received numerous congratulatory feedbacks from the community congratulating PRO MIMAROPA for the outstanding results of their relentless campaign towards a safer Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City- In response to the growing crisis of plastic pollution specifically in the oceans, the men and women of PRO MIMAROPA being known of its name “The Eco-Road Warriors” under the stewardship of PCSUPT MELITO M MABILIN, Regional Director actively took part in a local coastal clean- up drive along with the volunteers from the Guardians Brotherhood Incorporated (GBI), Calapan Chapter, Free and Accepted Masons (FAAM), TV NET, Shell Depot, Barangay Officials and its Peace-Keeping Action Teams (BPATS) during the 115th Death Anniversary Celebration of Dr. Jose Rizal along the coastal areas of Barangay Lazareto, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

 

The said activity aims to address the environmental issues, pollution prevention and promote public awareness about the plastic as one of the marine debris which comes from land   via our storm water system, rivers and streams and is then transported out to sea which causes harm to ecosystems and wildlife.

 

PSUPT JUAN V AÑONUEVO, Chief, Regional Logistic and Research Development Division supervised the said activity.
