Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City- From the one hundred twenty-five (125) “Drug-Free” barangays which were declared “Drug-Free” in February 2017, an additional forty-eight (48) barangays were declared “Drug-Free and sixty-two (62) additional barangays were declared “Drug Cleared” as of March 3, 2017. As of this time, there were already one hundred seventy-two (172) total number of barangays that were declared “Drug-Free” and seventy-eight (78) barangays that were declared “Drug-Cleared”.

 

 

The additional forty-eight “Drug Free” Barangays were from the provinces of Romblon, Oriental Mindoro and Palawan. Broken down as follows: thirty-four (34) barangays were from the Province of Romblon composed of sixteen (16) from the Municipalities of Banton; Concepcion with seven (7); Santa Fe with five (5); San Jose with two (2); Alcantara with two (2); San Andres with one (1); Corcuera with one (1). Further, eleven (11) Barangays were from the Province of Palawan; eight (8) from the Municipality of Cagayancillo; two (2) from Sofronio Española; one (1) from Aborlan while three (3) Barangays were from the Province of Oriental Mindoro; one (1) from Naujan; one (1) from Puerto Galera and one (1) from Pinamalayan.

 

Further, based on the results of the validation conducted by the Police Regional Office MIMAROPA in cooperation with its Stakeholders, Local Government Units, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other Law Enforcement Agencies on the resolution and certification issued by its Sangguniang Barangay and Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), Municipal/City Police Stations, all unaffected Barangays in the Provinces of Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro are already declared free of illegal drugs.

 

 

Furthermore, the sixty-two (62) “Drug Cleared” Barangays were from the provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan.   Thirty-three (33) barangays were from the Province of Oriental Mindoro; fourteen (14) of which were from the Municipality of Pola; six (6) from the Municipality of Baco; five (5) from the Municipality of Mansalay; four (4) from the Municipality of Gloria; three (3) from the Municipality of San Teodoro and one (1) from the Municipality of Bulalacao. In the province of Romblon, twenty-three (23) Barangays were from the twelve (12) from the Municipality of San Andres; six (6) from the Municipality of Calatrava and five (5) from the Municipality of Sta. Maria while in the province of Occidental Mindoro, five (5) Barangays were declared, three (3) from the Municipality of Magsaysay; one (1) from the Municipality of Paluan and one (1) from the Municipality of Looc. Meanwhile,   one (1) Barangay in the municipality of Araceli, Palawan was also declared “Drug-Cleared”.

 

With the newly enhanced PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign Plan named “Project Double Barrel: Reloaded”,   PCSUPT WILBEN M MAYOR directed the Provincial Directors and City Director strictly ensure the implementation of the protocol on the conduct of anti- illegal drugs operations and to conduct intensified anti-illegal drugs operations in priority drug affected barangays.
