Since May 23, 2017, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police started its operations, running after Isnilon Hapilon and his cohorts. Armed encounters have since then ensued in Marawi City. As a result, numerous lives both from the AFP and the PNP were lost including the lives of the innocent civilians. Though, they are still on the process of clearing Marawi City from the Maute-ISIS group, the restoration to its normalcy through rehabilitation and reconstruction is a long way to go for our troops to leave the said beleaguered city.

In response to   the present situation of our troops and upon request of PCSUPT PIERRE R BUCSIT, the former Deputy Regional Director for Operations of this Police Regional Office and now the Deputy Director, Directorate for Integrated Police Operations of Western Mindanao, this Office have come up with this project “Support our Troops”. This is an initiated project of this Office thru the initiative of the Regional Police Community Relations Division headed by Police Superintendent ARVIN T MOLINA. This project aims to encourage the citizens to pray for our troops and to raise funds for the procurement of their essential needs to help them somehow alleviate their present situation inside the war zone.

During the said program, PCSUPT FROILAN F QUIDILLA, Deputy Regional Director for Administration turned-over the donated goods to PSUPT ELEAZAR R BARBER, JR., Assistant Chief, Program Management Division, Directorate for Integrated Police Operations Western Mindanao during the launching program of Project “Support our Troops” at Camp Efigenio C Navarro Grandstand, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro about 9:00 AM of August 3, 2017.
