On November 22, 2017 at about 5:30 PM, the victim Rodel Dimalibot Cunanan, 49 years old, married, a businessman and a resident of Barangay Sto. Nino, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro was shot to death by two (2) unidentified motorcycle riding suspects while the former was inside his store named Cycle Zone Trading. Accordingly, one of the suspects who was wearing a camouflage shorts slowly walked towards the victim shot the victim several times hitting the different parts of his body. Thereafter, the suspects immediately fled towards the municipality of Socorro while the victim was immediately brought to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.



In-depth investigation and manhunt operations conducted by the personnel of Pinamalayan Municipal Police Station led to the arrest of the suspect identified as Jose Victor Estadilla Generato alias “WOWIE”, in his residence in Barangay Merit, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro. He is presently detained at Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro while manhunt operation is still being conducted for the apprehension of the other suspect who was already identified by Pinamalayan Municipal Police Station. The suspect was positively identified by the witness, the companion of the victim inside the store when the incident happened through a rouges gallery of Socorro Municipal Police Station. The suspect has already charged of a murder case for killing a Barangay Captain identified as Alvin Saet, 57 years old, a resident of Brgy. Casiligan, Pola, Oriental Mindoro on May 6, 2009 and has a standing Warrant of Arrest for Highway Robbery in Lemery, Batangas in 2006.


Meanwhile, PCSUPT WILBEN M MAYOR, Regional Director directed all unit commanders to tighten their security measures to prevent occurrence of any crime in their respective areas of responsibility.
