Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro—Two former communist rebels in Palawan finally heeded the government’s call for peace after they voluntarily surrendered to the personnel of 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company Palawan PPO on Sunday, July 9, 2023.

Police report revealed that “Ka Pet”, 38, and “Ka Gelinda”, 32, former Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members operating in Southern Palawan voluntarily surrendered in Sitio Cabangaan, Brgy. Samariñana, Brookes Point, Palawan at around 4:30 PM.

The surrender of “Ka Pet” and “Ka Gelinda” was a result of the relentless efforts of the intelligence units of 401st B MC RMFB, in collaboration with Provincial Intelligence Unit; Palawan PPO, PIT-RIU 4B, Naval Intelligence Security Group West and with the active support of KADRE Palawan.

Said surrenderers are now under the custody and supervision Intelligence personnel of 1st PMFC Palawan PPO for custodial debriefing, documentation and assistance in processing of Enhanced Comprehensive and Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
