Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – The intensified campaign of the government’s National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict resulted in the voluntary surrender of three members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Occidental Mindoro on Friday, May 6, 2022.
Occidental Mindoro Police Province Office PCOL SIMEON L GANE JR revealed that alias “Ka Joshua”, 42; “Ka Jerome”, 42; and “Ka Marian”, 41, all NPSR listed from Barangay Barahan, Sta. Cruz, of the said province, voluntary surrendered to Occidental Mindoro PPO 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in Barangay Payompon, Mamburao town.
The surrender of the three NPA rebels was a result of the relentless efforts of 2nd PMFC, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and Sta Cruz Municipal Police Station of Occidental Mindoro PPO, together with 402nd and 405th B Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4B, Provincial Intelligence Team-Occidental Mindoro of Regional Intelligence Unit-4B, and the 76th Infantry Battalion under the 203rd Brigade of the Philippine Army.
The surrendered CTGs are regular members of Sandatahang Yunit Sa Pag-Oorganisa under Platoon GMT, SRMA-4D (ISLACOM MINDORO) that operates in the provinces of Occidental Mindoro (Sta Cruz, Mamburao, Paluan, and Abra de Ilog) and Oriental Mindoro (Puerto Galera, San Teodoro and Baco).
The said CTGs are now under the custody of the Occidental Mindoro 2nd PMFC for debriefing and determination of whether the said former rebels are qualified for the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
Statistics disclosed that Police Regional Office MIMAROPA had scored 69 surrendered CTG members from January 1 to May 6, 2022.
