Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, arrested three individuals in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in Oriental Mindoro and Palawan on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

Police reports revealed that Ian Nuñez Mejica, 36, listed as a Priority High-Value Individual, was arrested after allegedly selling one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing “shabu” weighing around 0.69 grams worth P2,000 to a poseur-buyer in a joint buy-bust operation led by the operatives of Puerto Princesa City Police Drugs Enforcement Unit together with Puerto Princesa City Anti-Crime Task Force in Baltan St., Bgy. San Miguel, Puerto Princesa City.

In Barangay Lazareto, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, Arvin Cantos Malibiran a.k.a. “Arvin”, 41, listed as a High-Value Individual, was also arrested in another joint buy-bust operation led by the elements of Calapan City Police Station Drug Enforcement Team, Oriental Mindoro PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TRMU) and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Oriental Mindoro PPO after allegedly selling one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing “shabu” worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer about 5:50 PM.

Recovered from his possession were three more pieces of sachets of suspected “shabu” weighing 0.40 grams, valued at P2,720.

Moreover, a joint buy-bust operation in Purok Republic Brgy. IV, Roxas, Palawan conducted by the elements of Roxas Municipal Police Station and Palawan PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit resulted in the arrest of Saturday Tipay Carpo, 43, after allegedly selling two pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing “shabu” worth P2,500 to a police poseur-buyer about10:00 P.M. of the same day.

Arrested drug suspects are now under police custody complaints of violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being prepared for the inquest proceedings against them.

Meanwhile, the data from the PNP Drug-Related Data Integration and Generation System (DRDIGS) of the Regional Operations Division show that PRO MIMAROPA had already launched 183 anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 207 drug suspects, yielding a total of 406.478 grams of shabu valued at Php2,936,411 and 2,284.0 grams of Marijuana worth P343,394 from January to August 4 this year.

“I commend the efforts of our operatives in this successful anti-drug operation. Again, this is an evident manifestation of our commitment towards eliminating the illegal drugs problem through the focused police operations in the region”, PBGen Hernia said. – RPIO MIMAROPA
