Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – A total of sixty-three (63) members of the Communist Party of Philippines – New People’s Army have voluntary surrendered to Police Regional Office MIMAROPA from January 1 to April 11 this year.
The latest surrenderer was “Ka Amor”, 33, who hails from Sitio Palihon, Brgy. Waygan, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro and a regular member of GMT under the Sub-Regional Military Area (SRMA) 4D of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC), who voluntarily surrendered to the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office in Barangay Cacawan, Pinamalayan, of the said province on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at around 2:00 PM.
“The surrender of “Ka Amor” was through the relentless efforts of the intelligence unit of Oriental Mindoro PPO, in collaboration with the 10th Special Action Battalion under the PNP Special Action Force; PRO MIMAROPA Regional Intelligence Division; Alpha Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Coy under 2CMOBn, 76th Infantry Battalion, 23rd Military Intelligence Company, and 203rd Infantry Brigade, all under the Philippine Army; and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency,” PBGEN DORIA said.
“Ka Amor” is now under the custody of the PNP for debriefing prior to their possible enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
PBGEN DORIA commended the efforts of the PNP and all government agencies concerned in the region and reiterated the significant role of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed-conflict (NTF-ELCAC) in the government’s successful counter-insurgency campaign.
“I commend the efforts of our PNP personnel, the AFP and all concerned government agencies in this success. This is a solid proof that the government’s whole-of-nation approach under the NTF-ELCAC is gaining more momentum in its goal to putting an end to the local communist terrorism in the region”, PBGEN DORIA said.
“I renew my call to the remaining members of the communist terrorist group to surrender and return to the folds of the law, and enjoy the benefits given by the government through the Enhanced Local Integration Program (E-CLIP),” PBGEN DORIA added. – RPIO MIMAROPA
