Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro-Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the stewardship of the Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, has been gaining far in its campaign against loose firearms.
The said police regional office has scored a total of 205 surrendered loose firearms in just a brief span of ten days, from January 21-30.
Out of the said figure, 72 refers to firearms for safekeeping and 73 corresponds to firearms voluntarily surrendered, and 60 have been surrendered after the “oplan katok” and other police operations.
As of press time, the said police office logs a total of 8,201 operations which include “katok”, service of search warrants, and police responses, from January 1, 2021 to January 30, 2022.
During the same period, said region has confiscated, recovered, and received (surrendered after “katok”) 728 firearms, 100 explosives, 798 ammunition, including the 422 surrendered firearms for safekeeping.
The fervent zeal and constant reiteration of Police Colonel GIL FRANCIS G TRIA, Deputy Regional Director for Operations, during enhanced managing police operations meetings, has drove unit commanders, including the provincial directors and chiefs of police, to PRO MIMAROPA’s remarkable feat.
