Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Elements of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) 4B, Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office (Rizal Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drugs Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company), and 401st Maneuver Company of RMFB 4B nabbed a drug in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Malawaan, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro at about 2:19 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
The police report revealed that the arrested suspect, John Jerick Tanglao Hermosa a.k.a. “Jerick”, 28, farmer, who hails from Brgy Tanyag in Calintaan town was listed as a regional drug high-value individual (HVI).
Hermosa was nabbed after allegedly selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing “shabu,” in exchange for a one-thousand-peso bill to a police poseur-buyer.
Also seized from the suspect’s possession were two additional pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing “shabu”, weighing more or less 0.55 grams with an estimated value of Php 2,000.00, one black Nokia cellphone, and other paraphernalia.
As of press time, Hermosa is under the custody of the Rizal MPS while a complaint on violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) is being prepared for the inquest proceedings against him.
Records from PNP Drug Related Data Integration and Generation System (DRDIGS) show that PRO MIMAROPA scored a total of 72 anti-illegal drugs operations from January 1- March 16, 2022, which led to the arrest of 77 drug suspects wherein 64 of which were listed as High-Value Individuals (HVIs).
The said operations yielded a total of 257.400 grams of shabu and 1,176.721grams of Marijuana with estimated values of Php 1,748,580 and Php 142,334.52, respectively.
Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Regional Director, Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, commended the operating units for their unwavering commitment that led to the arrest of the said drug personality.
“The arrest of this drug personality creates a domino effect as it will disrupt the flow of supply of illegal drugs in Occidental Mindoro. I congratulate the operatives of the RDEU 4B, Occidental Mindoro PPO, and RMFB 4B for another show of hard work and dedication” PBGen Hernia said.
