Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro –PRO MIMAROPA anti-drug operatives nabbed a 21-year-old drug personality in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Pag-asa, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, Sunday evening, March 20, 2022.

Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office Director PCOL SIMEON L GANE, JR disclosed that the drug suspect, Cedrick Demafilis Baron a.k.a. “Cedrick”, college student, who hails from the said place, was arrested after allegedly selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing “shabu,” in exchange for a one-thousand-peso bill to a police poseur-buyer in a joint operation led by San Jose Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Team (MDET), together with the Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) 4B, and PDEA Occidental Mindoro.

Also seized from the suspect’s possession were two additional pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing “shabu”, weighing more or less 0.30 grams with an estimated value of Php 2,400.00, one-thousand-peso-bill buy-bust money, and one Huwaei cellular phone.

As of press time, Cedrick is under the custody of the San Jose MPS while a complaint on violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) is being prepared for the inquest proceedings against him.

Records from the PNP Drug-Related Data Integration and Generation System (DRDIGS) of the Regional Operations Division (ROD) revealed that since January of 2022, Police Regional Office MIMAROPA has scored 77 operations that led to the arrest of 81 drug suspects, yielding a total of 261.430 grams of “shabu,” valued at Php 1,777,724.

Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Regional Director, Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, commended the operating units of Occidental Mindoro PPO and RDEU 4B for their unwavering efforts in the continuing implementation of the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign in the region.
