Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, has announced that the start of the local campaign period on Friday, March 25, 2022, was generally peaceful.

MIMAROPA police intensified their police visibility, particularly in areas of convergence such as public markets, parks, malls, churches, terminals, major thoroughfares, seaports, and airports, where candidates may hold their political rallies, to preempt any nefarious plans terrorist groups and other criminals and to implement Minimum Public Health Standard Protocols strictly.

The MIMAROPA’s top cop stressed that the intensified police presence and deployment operations aimed at preventing election-related crimes and ensuring that police intervention is in place to diffuse other violent incidents.

Records from the Regional Election Monitoring and Action Center (REMAC) revealed that PRO MIMAROPA had maintained zero election-related incidents since January 9, 2022, the start of the election period.

Meanwhile, PBGen Hernia, who shepherds more than 6,000 PNP personnel in MIMAROPA, assured the public of a much more competent PNP personnel committed to upholding and respecting human rights, especially during the entire campaign period regionwide.
