Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro-A 49-year-old man who hails from Purok Bliss, Brgy. Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan was arrested in buy-bust operation in Purok Imelda in the said barangay on February 23, 2022 at about 9:00 P.M.
Allegedly, the poseur buyer was able to buy one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu weighing more or less 0.16 grams in exchange for one piece of the one-thousand-peso bill as marked money which led to the arrest of Berly Yumol Felizarte, police said.
Felizarte was arrested by the operation jointly launched by Police Station 2 Special Drug Enforcement Team and Puerto Princesa City Anti-Crime Task Force operatives, Police Major NOEL A MANALO, PS2 commander said.
As of press time, the suspect is under the custody of PS2 while the criminal complaint against him is filed, violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165).
The Drug-Related Data Integration and Generation System (DRDIGS) of the Regional Operations Division, Police Regional Office MIMAROPA has logged 443 operations from January 2021 to February 23, 2022.
During the same period, a total of 504 suspects were arrested by the said police regional office, yielding a total of 1,777.038 grams of shabu valued at Php 12,083,858.40.
During enhanced managing police operations meetings, Police Colonel GIL FRANCIS G TRIA, Deputy Regional Director for Operations, constantly pushes all unit commanders, including the provincial directors and chiefs of police, to sustain their drive against illicit drugs.
Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, Regional Director of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, remarked: “All unit commanders must persistently launch massive focused police operations against illegal drugs personalities in their respective areas of responsibilities coupled with barangay drug clearing operations”. -RPIO MIMAROPA
