Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – A total of 282,747 seedlings of fruit and non-fruit bearing trees were planted by the personnel of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, and various stakeholders since January this year.
According to Police Colonel ROEL L LAMI-ING, Chief of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD), all police units in the five provinces and one city in MIMAROPA region took part in the simultaneous tree planting in selected sites within their areas of responsibility.
The “Police Eco-Warriors” Chief said: “Tree planting is part of their commitment to addressing environmental degradation and providing sustainable environment to communities in partnership with local government units (LGUs) and concerned agencies”.
“Planting trees is the PNP’s own little way of helping mitigate the effects of climate change to our environment and through this activity, we share the responsibility in protecting and preserving it” PBGEN HERNIA added. – RPIO MIMAROPA
