Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN S HERNIA, has arrested 22 individuals, including two wanted persons and one drug personality, in separate police operations in the entire region on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
According to the police report, the arrested accused were identified as Rodante Galindez Lontoc, alias Durante Lontoc, 47, listed as Top 8 most wanted of Oriental Mindoro, hails from Brgy. Pag-asa, Bansud, Oriental Mindoro; and Fernando Cornetes Belbez, 32, from Brgy. Casiligan, Pola, of the said province.
Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office Director Police Colonel RENANTE C CABICO said that Lontoc was arrested in Brgy. Santiago, Naujan town in a joint operation led by the operatives of Naujan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Oriental Mindoro; 10th Special Action Battalion, PNP SAF; 1st Provincial Maneuver Force Company of Oriental Mindoro; Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4B; and CIDG Regional Field Unit MIMAROPA under arrest warrants for the crime of Murder, with no bail recommended, and Frustrated Murder with a recommended bail valued at Php 200,000.00.
On the other hand, Belbez was arrested under a warrant of arrest for the crime of Attempted Homicide with recommended bail of Php 36,000.00 by Pola MPS, together with Mansalay MPS and Provincial Highway Patrol Team of Oriental Mindoro in Sitio Iba, Brgy. Waygan, Mansalay town.
Meanwhile, a street-level pusher was arrested in a joint drug buy-bust operation launched by Puerto Princesa City Police Office City Drug Enforcement Unit and Puerto Princesa City Anti-Crime Task Force after allegedly selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected “Marijuana” weighing more or less 4.96 grams, in exchange for Php 1,000.00 to a police poseur-buyer in Brgy. San Pedro, of the said city.
Data from the PNP Drug-Related Data Integration and Generation System revealed that since January of the present year, PRO MIMAROPA had conducted 80 operations that led to the arrest of 84 suspects, yielding a total of 261.840 grams of shabu and 1,454.681 grams of Marijuana with an estimated value of Php 1,780,512 and Php 174,561.72, respectively.
In its aggressive campaign against criminality, PRO MIMAROPA has arrested a total of 19 violators: seven in Socorro, Oriental Mindoro for alleged violation of P.D. 1602 (Anti-Illegal Gambling Act) and P.D. 449 (Cockfighting Law of 1974); three in Occidental Mindoro for violation of PD 1602; and three in Palawan for alleged violation of P.D. 1602; six for violation of environmental laws: one in Baco, Oriental Mindoro for violation of R.A. 9175 (Chainsaw Act of 2002); and five in Taytay, Palawan for violation of R.A. 10654 (Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998).
