Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN S HERNIA, has arrested a total of ten wanted persons and seven law violators in separate police operations in the entire region on Wednesday, March 22, 2022.

The Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) of PRO MIMAROPA has identified the ten wanted persons namely: (1) Frederick Disamparo Magbanua, 42, listed as the top 1 most-wanted of Araceli, Palawan, for the crime of Rape; (2) Ronilo Lacdao Mangui, 62, of Mogpog, Marinduque, for the crime of Malicious Mischief; (3) Jomar Quijano Panum, 22, of Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro, for the crime of Attempted Homicide; (4) Edgardo Castillo San Diego, 45, of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, for violation of B.P. 22 (Bouncing Check Law); (5) Gabriel Jusayan Allego, 76, of Quezon, Palawan, for violation of Sec. 77 of P.D. 705 (Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines); (6) Alwin Alicos Azares, 38, (7) Nenita Salioman Azares, 60, and (8) Homer Mitra Azares, 66, all of Quezon, Palawan, for the violation of Sec. 77 of P.D. 705 (Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines); (9) John Michael Albelo Manuel, 18, and (10) Carol Jane Villar Tolentino, 17, all of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, for the crime of Robbery.

On the other hand, the police were able to arrest five suspects for the violations of Presidential Decree 1602 (three in San Andres, Romblon, and two in Occidental Mindoro); two suspects for the violation of P.D. 705 known as the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines (one in San Agustin, Romblon, and one in Occidental Mindoro).

Meanwhile, the aggressive campaign against loose firearms led to the surrender of fourteen firearms (five in Romblon, four in Occidental Mindoro, three in Palawan, and two in Oriental Mindoro).

Citing the data from the Regional Investigative and Detection Management Division (RIDMD), the said region had recorded 982 crime incidents, from January 1 to March 23, 2022, which corresponds to a 13.02% drop from the 1,129 crime incidents in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in the campaign against loose firearms, 897 operations were launched which resulted in the arrest of five suspects, surrender of 568 firearms after Oplan “Katok”, voluntary surrender of 398 for safekeeping, in just a brief span, from January 1, 2022 to March 23, 2022.
