Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – In a bid to ensure safety and peaceful local elections on May 9, Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, has activated the “Synchronized COMELEC Checkpoints” on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

PBGen Hernia said that the said operational initiative is intended to preempt any atrocities amidst l intense national and local political campaign in MIMAROPA Region.

The MIMAROPA’s top cop explained that the synchronized COMELEC checkpoints system adopts the alternate-overlapping scheme wherein police stations in all provinces in the region will simultaneously conduct alternating checkpoints 24/7 based on the cluster they belong.

Records from the Regional Election Monitoring and Action Center (REMAC) revealed that MIMAROPA Region still maintains its record of having zero election-related incidents.

“From 12:01 AM to 12:00 midnight, the public can expect that there will be COMELEC checkpoints all throughout the region in order to maintain MIMAROPA as one of the most peaceful regions in the country during the election period”, PBGen Hernia assured the public. – RPIO MIMAROPA
