Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – The intensified one-day manhunt operation conducted by the Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General JOEL B DORIA, resulted in the arrest of CALABARZON’s top 1 most wanted person and four other wanted individuals on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
According to the police report, Victor Briones Aragon, 32, who ranked as the first most wanted person in the CALABARZON region, was apprehended in Brgy. 2-Poblacion, Romblon, Romblon.
The arrest was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Romblon Municipal Police Station, Romblon PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, PIT Romblon RIU 4B, RID MIMAROPA Romblon CIT, RIU 6, PDEG SOU4B, Romblon Maritime Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit Romblon PPO, CGIG-STL/CGIU-Romblon, and Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station Laguna PPO.
Aragon was arrested based on an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 28 in Sta. Cruz, Laguna for the violation of Sec. 12, Art. II of R.A. 9165 (3 counts).
Meanwhile, the four other arrested wanted persons are as follows: Benjun Bautro Salome, 52, for the crime of Estafa; Nicolas Matining y Urtiguero alias “Dayo”, 49, for the crime of Attempted Homicide; Jovert Clar Padilla, 53, for the violation of Sec. 10 (a) of R.A. 7610 (2 counts); and Marichu Ann B. Pacaldo, 31, for the crime of Estafa through Falsification of Document under Art. 315 Par. 2 (A) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Art. 172 and 171 thereof as amended by Sections 85, 26, and 25 of Republic Act 10951.
“I commend the successful collaboration of our police units that led to the success of this operation,” said PBGEN DORIA.
“Likewise, we acknowledge the continuous support of the community who provided information leading to the arrest of said wanted person,” he added.
The arrested persons are currently in police custody and will be turned over to the appropriate courts.
