Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro-The five Provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, and the City of Puerto Princesa had their simultaneous launching of “Kapulungan ng Pulis, Sundalo, Bantay Dagat, COMELEC, at Lahat ng Lingkod Bayan Kasama ang Simbahan at Pamayanan (KASIMBAYANAN)” for Secure, Accurate, and Fair/Free Elections 2022 (SAFE 2022) on February 11, 2022.

KASIMBAYANAN showcased inter-faith prayers from the representatives from the different denominations namely, Roman Catholic Church, Islam, and other Christian churches in the said areas.

The lighting of SAFE 2022 candles was an integral part of the affair which symbolized that the Filipino people, including the police, soldiers, government and non-government employees, advocacy groups, youth, etc. have high hopes the entire country, particularly the MIMAROPA Region, will have a SAFE 2022.

In Palawan Island, the Palawan Police Provincial Office and Puerto Princesa City Police Office jointly held said undertaking where Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, Regional Director of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, personally spearheaded the said launching, which coincided with his command/field visit to Palawan Police Provincial Office and Puerto Princesa City Police Office.

It can be recalled that on February 8, 2022, which was also the kick-off of the campaign period for national elective posts, Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, formally instituted the KASIMBAYANAN at Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Barangay Suqui, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, the seat of the regional headquarters.

Meanwhile, the pinning of SAFE 2022 pins and manifesto signing highlighted the said launching which was participated by representatives from the different government agencies, advocacy groups, and other civic organizations.

PBGen Hernia said: “Kapayapan at pagkakaisa ang tanging mabisang susi upang makamtan nating lahat ang ating hinahangad na matahimik, ligtas, malaya, tumpak, at patas na halalan sa darating na Mayo 9, 2022 na siyang pinakabuod ng pagdiriwang natin ngayon”.

As of press time, statistics from the Regional Election Monitoring and Action Center (REMAC) of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA depict there is still zero election-related violence in the entire region. –RPIO MIMAROPA
