Camp Efigenio BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City Oriental Mindoro – After almost 12 years of hiding, a former member of the New People’s Army (NPA) and tagged as MIMAROPA’s top 4 most wanted person, “Ka Jomar”, a former CTG member, 55, was finally arrested during a manhunt operation in Barangay San Isidro, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro on Friday evening, April 29, 2022.

The said personality was arrested in a joint police operation launched by the CIDG 4B Regional Field Unit MIMAROPA Regional Special Operations Team and Occidental Mindoro Provincial Field Unit; Provincial Intelligence Unit and San Jose Municipal Police Station of Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office; and 10th Special Action Battalion of the PNP SAF.

The police report revealed that “Ka Jomar” was nabbed under an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court, Branch 46, San Jose of the said province for crimes of two counts of Murder with no bail recommended.

“Ka Jomar” was a former CTG member who operated under the then 2nd Squad, Iskuad Gerilya “BARAKUDA”, Komiteng Distrito Norly Biñan, Mindoro Island Party Committee (MIPC), Southern Luzon Command which covered the municipalities of Sablayan, Sta Cruz, Mamburao, Abra de Ilog, and Paluan of Occidental Mindoro.

As of press time, the arrested accused is under the custody of CIDG Occidental Mindoro Provincial Field Unit for turn-over to the issuing court as soon as possible.

Statistics disclosed that Police Regional Office MIMAROPA’s counter-insurgency campaign had resulted in the arrest of seven CTG members since January this year.

Meanwhile, PRO MIMAROPA Regional Director PBGEN SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA attributed the success of the said operation to the concerted efforts of the PNP units backed by the active support of the community.

“I commend all the operating units for a job well done. The arrest of this former CTG is another testament to our strong commitment to rounding up all criminals and terrorist groups hiding from the law”, PBGen Hernia said.

“I have directed all unit commanders to intensify their counter-insurgency campaign through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) in active partnership and collaboration with the AFP and other concerned government agencies”, he continued. — RPIO MIMAROPA.
