Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro-Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, Regional Director of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, commits to strictly impose one-strike policy to any unit commanders in the entire region whose subordinates will have been established to be involved in any illegal activities, from provincial directors down to the chiefs of police.
The said undertaking is in compliance with the Chief PNP’s pronouncement that he would tighten its enforcement after several elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) were arrested due to the alleged involvement in robbing Chinese employees of a Philippine offshore gaming operator company, an online gambling firm that operates in the Philippines but caters to customers outside the country, in Angeles, Pampanga on January 26, 2022.
MIMAROPA’s top cop insisted that he would never allow any Police MIMAROPA Eco-warrior to be involved in illegal drugs or any felonious activities, he or she and his/her unit commander will certainly be subjected to one-strike policy, they will be relieved from posts, and be charged criminally and/or administratively, as it is still part of the intensified cleanliness policy of the Philippine National Police.
As of press time, statistics explicitly betrays that PRO MIMAROPA received a total of 89 administrative cases; 76 of which had already been resolved and the remaining 13 cases are still on summary proceedings and appeal since January 1, 2021.
“If one rotten egg may tend to influence other good personnel to commit illicit act, he/she and his/her unit commander must be expelled from the basket or I should say from the PNP organization immediately if evidence warrant”, PBGen Hernia added. -RPIO MIMAROPA
