Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, arrested a British national in Puerto Princesa in Barangay Santa Monica, Puerto Princesa City on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at about 6:30 PM.

The report from Puerto Princesa City Police Office Director PCOL ROBERTO M BUCAD revealed that the arrested accused, Derek John Ambridge, 78, included in the list of Puerto Princesa City most-wanted persons, was arrested in a law enforcement operation led by joint elements of Police Station 1, together with the operatives from CIDG-Palawan Provincial Field Unit.

Ambridge was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 47, 4th Judicial Region, Puerto Princesa City for two counts of Violation of Section 5 (b) of Republic Act No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) with a recommended bail amounting to Php 200,000.00 each.

As of press time, the arrested accused is under the custody of the Police Station 1 of PPCPO and will be turned over to the issuing court as soon as possible.

The data from the Regional Investigative and Detection Management Division showed that PRO MIMAROPA had scored a total of 661 arrests of Wanted Persons, from January 1 to April 6, 2022.
