Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Director Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA assured the public that necessary security measures and police deployment in the entire region are already in place for this year’s All Saints and All Soul’s Day celebrations on November 1 and 2, respectively.
“We are now ready to implement our law enforcement and public safety plans to ensure the safety and security of the people. The intensified security measures are aimed at preventing crimes and ensuring that police intervention is in place to diffuse possible incidents that may transpire during the said events.” PBGen Hernia said.
The MIMAROPA top cop added that starting Friday, October 28, at least 3,600 PNP personnel including members of the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, Armed Forces of the Philippines and various volunteer groups will be deployed in various cemeteries/memorial parks, major thoroughfares, transportation hubs, vital installations, and other places of convergence in the region.
Police assistance desks will likewise be put in place in different areas of convergence to reinforce our security response and intervention.
PBGen Hernia also reminded the public, including those who will be traveling for leisure, to take the necessary precautions before leaving their houses unattended during the long weekend.
“I have already directed all unit commanders in the region to remain visible at all times along travel routes, transport terminals, public cemeteries and other public places to establish police presence in these areas.
