Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Regional Director PBGEN SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA has vowed that justice would be served to the family of Jovelyn Galleno, a 22-year-old sales lady in Puerto Princesa City who went missing since August 5, 2022.

Galleno was last seen on August 5 in Barangay Tagburos, an adjacent barangay to Sta. Lourdes, after getting out of a public transport vehicle (multicab) from Robinsons Place in Barangay San Manuel, of the said city.

On August 23, skeletal remains with garments belonging to Galleno were found near a ravine in Purok Pulang Lupa, Brgy. Sta Lourdes, of the said city.

The results of the DNA examination conducted by the PNP Forensic Group taken from the skeletal remains matched the DNA samples of Galleno’s mother.

PBGen Hernia said that Puerto Princesa City Police Office Special Investigation Task Group handling the incident revealed they already identified two suspects behind the disappearance and death of Jovelyn Galleno.

“One of the suspects already confessed to the crime and I have already directed the Puerto Princesa City SITG investigators to build an airtight investigation for the filing of appropriate charges against him and his cohort”, PBGen Hernia added.

“We condemn in the highest degree the senseless atrocity against the victim and we assure the victim’s family and the public that the suspects behind the reprehensible heinous crime are brought to justice”, PBGen Hernia remarked.
