Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Around 80 residents from the Kabataan Kotra Droga at Terrorismo (KKDAT), Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) initiated an indignation rally to denounce the atrocities of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) in Brgy. Waygan, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro on Friday, July 7, 2023.

Chanting “Ikondena ang NPA sa pagrekrut” and “NPA salot sa lipunan”, the protesters called for an end to the decade-long deception to civilians, extortion, harassment, as well as recruitment of indigenous people by the CPP-NPA-NDF.

The rallyists converged at Brgy. Waygan Covered Court to voice out their grievances to the said terrorist group and to show full support with the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) program of the national government.

During the activity, the rallyist were given assistance by the personnel of 105SAC led by PCPT JOCELYN R GARILLO, Assistant Company Commander 105SAC with the supervision of PCPT KELVIN L TAY-OG, Company Commander, 105SAC together with Oriental Mindoro PPO 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4B and Mansalay Municipal Police Station.

In a statement, PRO MIMAROPA Regional Director, PBGEN JOEL B DORIA said the said rally showcases the unwavering determination of our community to uphold peace and reject the destructive actions of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

“We stand firmly with the residents in their condemnation of the atrocities committed by this terrorist group. Their active participation in the NTF-ELCAC program is commendable, demonstrating their commitment to a safer and more secure society,” said PBGEN JOEL B DORIA.

“The Philippine National Police remains steadfast in our duty to safeguard our citizens and ensure the well-being of our communities.” he added.
