Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City – A 48-year-old drug suspect was arrested during a drug buybust operation in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on June 7, 2023.

The arrested person, Ricky Panganiban Mendoza alias “Ricky”, 48, was apprehended after allegedly selling one (1) piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected ‘shabu’ in exchange for Php500 to a police poseur-buyer in anti-illegal drug buybust operation led by the members of Calapan CPS Drugs Enforcement Team together with Oriental Mindoro PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit, and Tactial Motorcycle Riding Unit MIMAROPA in Brgy. Tibag, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro at around 11:00 AM.

Confiscated from Ricky’s possession were four (4) more pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing substance of suspected ‘shabu’, with an estimated weight at around .91 grams and market price amounting to Php6,188.00, the Php500 buybust money, and other paraphernalia.

Apprehended person is now under police custody pending the filing of charges in violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
