Camp Bgen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City – Police collared a 49-year-old man wanted for alleged illegal mining in a law enforcement operation in San Teodoro, Oriental Mindoro on June 28, 2023.

Police report revealed that at about 1:05 PM, Sonny Populi Lalong-isip, 49, was apprehended by joint personnel of San Teodoro Municipal Police Station and 4th Platoon, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company in Brgy. Poblacion, San Teodoro, Oriental Mindoro.

The arrest was made by virtue of bench warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 40 in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro for the Violation of RA 7942 (IPhilippine Mining Act of 1995) with recommended bail amounting to Php2,000.

Arrested person is now under police custody and will be turned over to issuing court for proper disposition.
