Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro-Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the stewardship of Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, directed all MIMAROPA Police to strictly implement the Minimum Public Health Standard Protocols in their workplaces, border control points, checkpoints, and even in their homes in order to control the spread of highly contagious COVID 19 (Omicron) Variant.
As of today, PRO MIMAROPA has 6,462 fully vaccinated out 6,687 total personnel or equivalent to 96.63%, and 809 have booster shots which correspond to 12.09%.
Police Colonel GERALDINE L ADANGLAO, Chief of the Regional Medical and Dental Unit (RMDU) MIMAROPA, mentioned that there are still more personnel who need booster shots, thus, RMDU MIMAROPA is avidly conducting massive information dissemination and education on COVID 19 response management which centers on enjoining all personnel to avail booster shots in order to enhance their immunity against infection.
As part of contingency measures of PRO MIMAROPA, it established quarantine facilities in Camp Navarro which can house 82 patients, and are disinfected and inspected by RMDU personnel from time to time under the supervision of Police Colonel BALTAZAR V RIVERA, Deputy Regional Director for Administration.
At present, PRO MIMAROPA Quarantine Facilities house 24 personnel and 12 of them were confirmed as COVID 19 positive. As a matter of protocol, any personnel who are found “COVID 19 probable or confirmed”, have to undergo 14 days mandatory quarantine and five days subsequent home quarantine.
When infection surges and exceeds the admission capacity of the quarantine facilities inside the camp, the concerned police units have to coordinate with their respective local government units for their admission.
In order to prevent the infection inside the workplace, unit commanders were even directed to implement the skeletal work force when it is deemed necessary based on the alert level status in their respective localities.
“As we are in the midst of the battle against pandemic, observance of Minimum Public Health Standard Protocols and vaccination still remain as the most potent weapons against COVID 19 infection”, PBGen HERNIA emphasized.
“Although infection rate in this PRO still stands lower and manageable, we must not discount the possibility that Omicron variant will strike our territory. Prevention still remains the best cure”, he added. -RPIO MIMAROPA
