Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro-Eladio Ramos Gripon Jr., alias “Mackoy”, 38 years old, native El Nido Palawan who is presently residing in Purok Uno Isla Puting Bato, Brgy. 20, Tondo, Manila, was arrested along C6 Road, Brgy. New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, on January 28, 2022 about 5:30 P.M.

Gripon was arrested by the Joint elements of Palawan Intelligence Unit, Palawan Drug Enforcement Unit, El Nido Municipal Police Station and other PNP units in NCRPO, and Police Regional Office CALABARZON by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 164 of Roxas, Palawan, for “Violation of Sections 5 (selling of illegal drugs), 11 (possession of illegal drugs) and 12 (possession of equipment, instrument, and other paraphernalia of illegal drugs), of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 with “no bail” recommended.

Gripon is currently under the custody of Sub-Station 9, Taguig City Police Station for temporary detention in preparation for his transfer to the court of origin.

As of press time, PNP Crime Incidents Recording and Analysis System (CIRAS) reveals that PRO MIMAROPA already arrested 386 most wanted persons and 1,970 other wanted persons since January 1, 2021.

On the same period, PNP Drug Related Data Integration and Generation System (DRDIGS) depicts that the said police regional office had confiscated a total of 1,505.615 grams of shabu through buy-bust operations only with corresponding Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value amounting to Php 10,238,179.28.

Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, Regional Director of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, emphasized that arrests of most wanted persons are a part of the focus programs that his leadership focuses on, as an integral component of the anti-criminality operations.

“Let us sustain our vigor in arresting all wanted persons we have in our long list, and put them behind bars especially nowadays that the national and local elections is nearlyg approaching, and they may be utilized by candidates during campaign period to advance their personal and political interests”, PBGen Hernia stressed. -RPIO MIMAROPA
