Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro-Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the stewardship of the Police Brigadier General SIDNEY SULTAN HERNIA, conducted simultaneous unity walk and peace covenant signing in the five provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan (MIMAROPA), and Puerto Princesa City on February 14, 2022.

The said activities commenced with unity walks which fostered the spirit of solidarity among candidates and other stakeholders during the national and local elections on May 9, 2022.

Peace covenant signings among the candidates, police, armed forces, religious sector, COMELEC, and other stakeholders highlighted the activities.

The mentioned undertakings were facilitated by the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD) headed by Police Colonel DENNIS JOSE S LLAVORE, the different police provincial offices, and Puerto Princesa City Police Office, under the supervision of the COMELEC Oriental Mindoro.

Police Colonel GIL FRANCIS G TRIA, the Deputy Regional Director for Operations, was also present to grace the said activity.

“May 9, 2022, National and Local Elections will be the opportune time for all of us to show that we are united as one and pro-peace”, PBGen Hernia remarked.

“History dictates that during the previous elections, MIMAROPA region was claimed as one of the most peaceful places in the country where failure of elections does not have any room”, he continued.-RPIO MIMAROPA
