Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – The Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General ROGER L QUESADA, successfully apprehended six individuals in separate seaborne patrol operations conducted in Marinduque and Occidental Mindoro on February 8 and 9, 2024.

Police reports revealed that alias “Fervin” (23), alias “Jaypee” (34), and alias “Frederick” (42), after being caught in the act of fishing without necessary permits and not registered Fisher folks of the Municipality of Torrijos in the Territorial Sea Water of Brgy. Dampulan, Torrijos, Marinduque by joint personnel of Torrijos Municipal Police Station and Bantay Dagat Torrijos.

Authorities confiscated one unit of white motor banca, approximately 300 meters of fishing net, more or less five kilograms of assorted fish with an estimated price of PhP750.00 and related paraphernalia.

Furthermore, personnel from Maritime Police Station Occidental Mindoro and San Jose Municipal Police Station, apprehended alias “Cristian” (39), alias “Joey” (48), and alias “Regie” (24), for alleged unauthorized fishing activity during seaborne patrol operation in relation to “ALL HANDS FULL AHEAD” in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

Confiscated from suspects’ possession were approximately thirty-eight (38) kilograms of catch fish locally known as “Tamban” with an estimated market value of PhP2,200.00 and other fishing paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects are now under police custody, and complaints of violations of the Sec. 86 (b) of R.A. 10654 are being prepared for the inquest proceedings against them.
