Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro — Six (6) former members of Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) finally heeded the government’s call for peace after they voluntarily surrendered to the authorities in Occidental Mindoro and Palawan on October 24, 2023.

According to police reports, “Ka Nomer”, 53; “Ka Rose”, 49; and “Ka Mica”, 24, former member of NPA in the Barrio and supporters of PLTN GMT, SRMA-4D (ISLACOM MINDORO) (Former Platoon FALCON) under “Ka Floro”, operating in the area of Sablayan, Sta. Cruz, Mamburao, Abra De Ilog, and Paluan, all of Occidental Mindoro voluntarily surrendered to the personnel of Occidental Mindoro PPO 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in Brgy. Payompon, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

The successful surrender of three NPA personalities were made possible through the assistance from the elements of Sta. Cruz MPS, Occidental Mindoro PPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, PIT Occidental Mindoro RIU-4B, 402nd and 405th B MC RMFB, 10th SAB under PNP SAF, and 76th IB, Philippine Army.

Similarly, at approximately 3:00 PM, “Ka Narko”, 25; “Ka Jeron”, 27; and “Ka Marcito”, 31, former communist rebels, has voluntarily surrendered with one (1) homemade shotgun (foldable) and two (2) live ammunitions of a 12-gauge shotgun to the personnel of CIT Palawan RID 4B with assistance from the members of Brooke’s Point MPS, 401st B MC RMFB, Palawan PPO 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit and RIU 4B in Brgy. Mainit, Brooke’s Point, Palawan.

Said surrenderers are now under police custody for debriefing and assistance prior to enrollment to the Enhanced Comprehensive and Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
