Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – The relentless effort of PRO MIMAROPA, under the leadership of PBGEN ROGER L QUESADA, has gained another significant accomplishment in tracking down ten (10) individuals during illegal gambling operations conducted throughout the region on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Police report reveals that personnel from Naujan Municipal Police Station, arrested alias “Allan” (51), alias “Guillermo” (58), alias “Edgar” (52), and alias “Dondon” (40), for their alleged involvement in illegal gambling activity (mahjong) in Sitio 5, Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro at around 2:30 PM.

The authorities confiscated one hundred forty-four (144) pieces of mahjong tiles, two (2) pieces of dice, ten (10) pieces of chips in different colors, bet money amounting to PhP570.00, and other paraphernalia from the suspects’ possession.

Furthermore, at about 2:40 PM, personnel from Mansalay Municipal Police Station apprehended alias “Jay-el” (23), alias “Olive” (31), alias “Jorem” (29), and alias “Antonio” (38), for their alleged involvement in illegal gambling activity (card game ‘pusoy) in Sitio Maligaya, Brgy. Sta. Brigida, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.

Confiscated from the suspects’ possession were one (1) set of playing cards, bet money amounting to PhP141.00, and other paraphernalia.

Moreover, alias “Ruel” (45) and alias “Maribel” (46), were arrested by the elements of Naujan Municipal Police Station after being allegedly caught engaged in illegal gambling activity (card game ‘tong-its’) in Sitio 5, Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

Recovered from the suspects’ possession were one (1) set of playing cards, bet money amounting to PhP220.00, and other related paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects are now under police custody pending the filing of charges for the violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602.
