Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro — Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Regional Director, PBGEN ROGER LAROZA QUESADA, has lauded the government’s successful anti-insurgency efforts that resulted in the withdrawal of support of two (2) former members of Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) in Oriental Mindoro on January 15, 2024.
According to police reports, “Ka Ely/Andy”, 54, former communist member under SYP/Plaguer, SRMA-GU4, STRPC and Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP)-UGMO has voluntarily surrendered with one (1) unit of Caliber .22 Revolver without serial number along with three (3) rounds of caliber .22 ammunition, and one (1) piece ammunition of M203 (40mm), to the personnel of 404th B Maneuver Company RMFB in Barangay Poblacion, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
The successful surrender of “Ka Ely/Andy” was made possible through the assistance from the elements of Oriental Mindoro PPO 4th Platoon, 1st PMFC; Provincial Intelligence Unit; Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station; Regional Intelligence Unit 4B; and Regional Intelligence Division 4B.
Similarly, at approximately 3:00 PM, “Ka Litaw/Wendil”, 26, a Periodic Status Report (PSR) listed under Platoon DOS, MRGU, SRMA-4D has voluntarily surrendered with one (1) caliber .38 pistol with defaced serial number, five (5) pieces of caliber .38 ammunition and one (1) hand grenade to the personnel of 403rd B Maneuver Company RMFB with assistance from the members of 105SAC, 10SAB, PNP-SAF; RIU MIMAROPA; RID MIMAROPA; NICA MIMAROPA; PIU; Mansalay MPS; 2nd PMFC all of Oriental Mindoro PPO; ISU; 4IB 2ID PA; 23rd DRC; and MICO 203rd Infantry Brigade, 2ID, Philippine Army in Brgy. Cabalwa, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.
Said surrenderers are now under police custody for debriefing and assistance prior to enrollment in the Enhanced Comprehensive and Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
