Camp BGen Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – Two (2) individuals were arrested during an anti-illegal logging operation in Sitio Similic, Brgy. Binudac, Culion, Palawan, on January 31, 2024.

Police report revealed that alias “Gregorio”, 56, and alias “Japhet”, 33, were arrested by the elements of Culion Municipal Police Station with assistance from the personnel of DENR, after being found in possession and control of undocumented chainsaw, homemade firearm, ammunitions, and handheld radio at around 5:36 PM.

Confiscated from the suspects possession were two (2) units of orange STIHL chainsaw without serial number, one (1) unit of homemade firearm (caliber .22 rifle) along with seven (7) live ammunitions, and two (2) units of Mitsushi handheld radio.

The suspects are now under police custody pending the filing of charges of violation of Presidential Decree No. 705, Republic Acts 9175 and 10591.
